Our great city is currently faced by couple challenges which are:
Lack of code enforcement on private property
Scarcity of commercial revenue to the city
Not enough funding for our local schools
High tax bills
Out dated city infrastructure
Speeding through residential zones
High turnover in our city departments
These challenges are not unconnected, high utility tax bills and poor city infrastructure have
scared away businesses whose operation would have otherwise created well-paying jobs for
our citizens. Our local schools too aren’t left out, fewer businesses as a result of higher taxes
have lowered the tax base and by extension, cut funding to our public schools and other areas
of public administration. If left unabated, this vicious cycle could go on and on.
I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that these
defective areas of our community are given the urgent attention and proactive action they
need, to put an end to this vicious cycle and ensure that our city is set back on the right path.
